Torrey Dark Skies works to preserve and protect the dark sky for present and future generations. We advocate for and educate on the dark sky and provide community support for dark sky-related events.

STAR PARTIES
Several times per year we host Star Parties for local community members and visitors coming to visit the beautiful Capitol Reef National Park. Contact us about our next Star Party or if you would like to host your own Star Party.
OUTDOOR LIGHTING
We educate local citizens on dark sky-friendly outdoor lighting. Please contact us for your own personal outdoor lighting consultation.
EDUCATING YOUNG MINDS
In October of 2023, Torrey Dark Skies visited elementary school classroom to discuss the science behind an eclipse. Students participated in a lively exchange of questions and answers. To ensure safe observation of the eclipse, Torrey Dark Skies donated eclipse glasses to all students in the district. In addition, we donated over forty sky-related books to the Loa Elementary School library. Through these presentations, we are creating advocates for our night sky.
